I would go back to rubber.

I suggested this design needed seals (among other things) a very long time ago.

If you stay with those use a heavy synthetic grease with high tack.

Thanks for the posts and pictures.

For now everything is back together and I’ll keep it well greased. Next time I have everything apart I’ll report back.

First one installed. I used 2x 45˚ fittings to give me 90˚ but with more clearance. You could probably find a 90˚ coupler that would give the needed clearance, but this is what I could get hold of.

I can't find these 45* fittings anywhere.
Did you find them online? Or local? (Norway is a bit too far for me, I reckon.)

I have a supplier that sourced them from Germany. Someone must have them stateside, perhaps Elephant could supply them also, since they install them in the polybronze as delivered?

The bold, red part is what I've been having trouble sorting out.
The McMaster stuff is cheap enough to give it a try.

Thanks, gents!

Once you confirm those McMaster parts are equivalent and you want to share or sell some of the load, let me know.

In my initial search, I have yet to find the 45 deg. female adapter (5 o'clock) that combines with one of the long straight fittings.

The zerks just unscrew from the 45˚ fittings, so you can use two 45’s for an extended 90˚, then add a zerk or long zerk at the end as I did. It can be a little fiddly to get the whole assembly the way you like, I used green loctite on the threads to keep everything where I wanted it.

Note that on the first 45 in the chain the hex part is ground down to clear the spring plate, you can just add the second 45 after that one, then the zerk.

Nope, 45" zerk couplers (to attach a long grease fitting) not available from McMaster-Carr. The existing 45 fittings and appear too short for the torsion tube bushing.

Well, I just did this with 2 x 45˚ fittings, as shown in the photos, then the long zerk. In abcense of the long zerk a short one should also work just fine. The 2 x 45’s clear no problem, in a way that just 1 x 90˚ would not.

Thanks for confirming two regular 45 deg. Zerks should clear for the torsion bar cover install.

I ordered a 90* fitting for my grease gun and it has made it much easier to grease the PB bushes. So much so, that I'm not presently looking to do the double-45 fitting like Evan has done.
Just an FYI.
