You aren't from around these parts are you son?
Enjoyed your comments per usual Tirwin
Have a buddy and his girlfriend who tried to take a day trip drive down through the keys last Sunday, they were stopped in Key Largo and turned back......residents only. I've been meaning to get the old girl out the last few nights but Florida is so god-awful boring to drive after living in Los Angeles......I took Mulholland, PCH Topanga/Malibu canyons and Angeles Crest Highway for granted. Looking forward to Durham in November though

I recently discovered a show called Auto/biography and they did an episode called the Ghosts of Mullholland. (There are some other good episodes with Porsche content too.) Anyway, I learned a lot about the area I didn’t know. Cool driving experience!
Where I live has become too populated. Too residential to have any real fun. Have to get up north for that. The thing about driving in Florida is its so flat if your dog runs away from home you can see him leaving for three days.

Embrace the Flatness
Hey Tirwin,
Saw the show, I grew up in the shadow of Mulholland near the base of Benedict Canyon. Smacked my Triumph Spitfire off the side of a hill in old Franklin Canyon when I was a kid. There's a little lake in the bottom of Franklin that they used in the opening of the old Andy Griffith show. Learned everything I know about cars from that damn Triumph, I swore off British Leyland and Smith electrical for life.....it's been good policy ![]() Point being, I didn't know that all those old wrecks were down in those canyons, though there were always rumors. Today's L.A. would never allow an ecological catastrophe like a car wreck to remain in one of their canyons. Lol, yep one can see his dog for days here! In fairness to Florida, I finally understand all the race tracks, DE's and weekend warriors now. I guess I need to embrace it

I know what you mean about Florida (at least S Florida) being flat, I tell people that the only hills you encounter are bridges.
I envy all you guys driving your toys. I’ve been at our condo since late November, I’m itching to go back to our home in Cincy, I’ve got a few toys I need to exercise!

Yep. Must drive. Here’s a pic from last Sunday - wandering around Colorado mountain roads. Was gone all day. 400 miles.

I'm amazed at how long it takes to do "essential travel" to the supermarket. A two our round trip - phew. Big shopping.
