Stainless vs steel sport exhaust for 1971 911?
I have just gotten my 71 911T Targa back from the welder, so much of the brown biscuit is now turned into steel:-). When starting up the cabin filled with very blue exhaust (had been standing for over a year), which gradually turned less blue. I am obviously getting exhaust from the heat exchangers into the cabin so I am afraid that the exchanger has rotted. My plan is therefore to install a set of SSI headers:

I have a complete stainless steel sport system (incl muffler) from Dansk on a ´77 911S and while I love the sound I am a little afraid it might be too loud on the Targa which mostly will be used topless (the car - not me). Does anyone have experience (or better sound comparison:-)) with the steel sport muffler from Dansk vs their stainless steel version? https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/101010164M350.htm?pn=10-1010-164-M350&bt=Y&fs=0&SVSVSI=5867 https://www.jpgroupclassic.com/product/?id=1620603400&cbrand=PORSCHE&cmodel=911/930 ![]() |
