Vacuum leak???
![]() Background: 3.6L blows apart plenum upon start up. Was intermittent, now every time. In the picture; could the cracked off corner of the intake runner be causing a vacuum leak??? Will be checking all ignition components too. Peace, Love & Fish Tacos - 911Ted |

Ted, did you ever check to see if the twin plug system will run the car correctly off of either circuit. (IE is the Dizzy belt broken) If it's a 964 setup you can unplug the ignition trigger control unit's mounted near the coil's one at a time and other than a drop in idle speed the engine should still run normally.
If you unplug one side and the engine shut's off or run's erratic then either the belt is broken in the Dizzy or one of the control unit's is bad. I have seen quite a few 964/993 series car's "pop" the manifold out of the intake boot's over the year's and 9 times out of 10 it was the dizzy belt. Richard |
