Spark plug lead recommendation

Hi Fellow Forum Members
My car has miss when cold. I also noticed a spark between one of the plug leads and the engine.
The OEM leads from Porsche are quite expensive. Seems there are 2 aftermarket options, Beru and URO. I would appreciate a bit of advice and your experience with these options.

The quality of fit and performance of the Porsche items made it worth it for me. The Beru set I tried was poor

I have Clewett on my 70. Great quality and fit. Much better than Beru and if memory serves me they were cheaper than Beru.

I purchased a set of Beru - had a lot of trouble with engine misfiring when cold. Found poor/loose connections which i tried to fix but the misfires kept coming back. Ordered a set of Clewwett wires and haven't looked back. Truly awesome quality.

Ditto: Beru = Junk!!!

I originally got the Beru's because I wanted to have a stock looking motor. They fell apart, causing no end of trouble and grief. I got Clewetts and haven't looked back.

On my early style engine I had to modify the plug holders since you cannot disassemble the plug wires to thread them through:

+1 for Clewett wires.

I had Beru's before and they were c@#$! Three wires separated from the plug connectors within 3000 miles. Not a reliable product in my book. YMMV

I also chose the Clewitt plug wires and have been very satisfied with their quality. Great choice and reasonably priced when compared to the Porsche pieces.

If it helps, Kavadarci posted a review of our Spark Plug Wire Set 911 609 010/011 ST for 1974-1983 and all turbos (basically all CIS injected engines) a while back.

Hi, Got these wires and wanted to give first hand feedback.

First of all they look and feel well made, bonus is that each wire is labeled properly so no need to worry.
They are absolutely beautiful to look at.

After installing them I noticed my car runs better without hesitation, tells me old wires were shot.

I would highly recommend these wires. They are available through multiple sources.

Consider NGK

I put a set of NGK wires in mine a few weeks back. Excellent quality and very pleased. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1596559866.jpg

Wow guys, that was certainly not the response I expected. I honestly thought the Beru was a high quality aftermarket product. Thank you for all the feedback. I see the host has 2 Clewett (Red & Black) wires marked as upper. Are these the correct ones? I see it does not have the extra earth connectors.
Anyone else with experience on the URO wires?

I replaced my Berus a few years ago and they were already failing this year. I replaced them with Clewetts which feel much higher quality.

I did a similar thing as someone above, slitting the original Beru wire holders with a razor and putting the Clewett wires in them. Zip ties hold it all together. Looks fairly close to stock and runs so much better.

Bob, where did you buy your NGK set?
