3.2 911 rear seat removal question/red pull knob fix
I've searched a bit and haven't been able to find any answers to this specific issue. When I bought my car the driver's rear seat was missing the red knob on the pull pin that allows for the rear seat to be dropped. The pin appears to have backed itself in when the old knob came off so I have to somehow pull/push it back out in order to istall the new knob - I was hoping this would be an easy fix but proving otherwise.
I figured removal of the seat back was the next way to go and was able to loosen and remove the large bolt on the outer side of the seat as well as the smaller bolt that holds the inside of the seat to the small metal housing for the push pins. Unfortunately the fact that the spring is still on the pull pin isn't allowing me to take the seat back all the way off - maybe I'm not yanking hard enough? Anyone else ever encounter this issue? I've read some posts that suggest pushing the pull pin out from the other side but I'm unable to fit a small allen wrench or tool under the backing of the passenger rear seat when that seat is down. Perhaps the next move is to unscrew the backing for easier access but I'd like to avoid that if possible. |
