Problem setting ride height

Today's project starting with installing turbo tie rods and the intent to lower the front end to 25 1/2 ", as measured from the fender well to the ground. The tie rod install went OK, BUT ...

after lowering the front end we discovered the car wouldn't hold the correct height. When going for a test drive we heard a grinding type sound coming from the front wheel well when making a slow right hand turn.. Back at the garage we discoverd the ride height had dropped below the desired level. After raising again, same problem occurred on the same test.

Nothing seems to be rubbing in the wheel well, so is it possible that the sound I am hearing is the teeth on the torsion bar slipping within the torsion bar cover? Could the torsion bar have somehow become stripped?

What else could this be? Right now the car is sitting in the garage with the right side lower than the left and no way to settle in at an even height. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm,

If one side won't hold a setting, I would think it has to be T-bar related. I would check for worn splines on both ends of the T-bar, as well as worn/stripped threads on the adjuster block (both male & female set-screw threads, and female T-bar splines). Also, make sure that your set screw isn't bent, and falling off of it's "perch". Good luck!
