Does this look right?

Hi guys,

I'm rebuilding my gear shifter and when I reinstalled the mounting plate, I noticed that the two "tabs" on the plate looked crooked...
At the moment the car is still pretty much a bare shell so I can't check the gears by shifting into gear.

I would really like to know if I should correct the angle of these "tabs" or if this is just how it's supposed to be?
I know for a fact that all of the original bushings had to be replaced so my theory is that maybe the previous owner modified te mounting plate to correct for worn bushings...

Bueller... Bueller...

Supposed to be vertical but no biggy. On the assumption that the shifting is good I would think that you can achieve the same thing by adjusting the hook on the shifter if it’s visually bothersome.
Cheers,
Johan

Thanks Johan,

The thing is, I'm rebuilding the car so I will be re-aligning everything.
I'll correct the angle now the shifter is out of the car.

If it ain't broke...

How many minutes would it take to pull the shifter later?

That is correct. Push the shift lever over against the right side and u will see the stick is at an angle that lines up with tabs.
