930S Steering Wheel Horn Ring Assembly?

I got a replica 930S steering wheel in pieces and am trying to figure out how to assemble the two metal rings that connect to the horn wires inside the wheel. Here are some photos. I also have the spring that goes between these two metal rings. There are three standard screws and three philips screws with plastic insulators around them. Any help on how this all goes together would be appreciated!

It's an Aitwe Typ 32 70111 wheel (who made them all, to fit many cars). Sold as "formel", "indianapolis" etc - search for "aitwe linkrader" on Ebay.de and you'll see these were fitted to everything from Escorts, Lancias, BMWs Mercs and Fiats back in the day. RAID, Aitwe and Itovolante are all owned by the same company now, I believe (all their mounting systems are different still).

Aitwe wheels purchased through Porsche Techquipment aftermarket have the magic P in a triangle and an embossed horn pad with the crest - but are otherwise identical (for 3 times the cost and an empty Porsche box).

"930S" is marketing BS as the factory used different wheels on the 930S (unless requested, when they'd build whatever you wanted). AFAIK, the only car fitted with these as a standard part were the 968 Club Sport. Which is the only parts listing for the crest-embossed horn pad in PET...

Doesn't matter

The two rings have an insulator that goes between them (which looks to be mounted to the wheel itself in your picture), 3 screws into the plastic posts hold them together against the spring compression - which itself holds the two metal rings apart. One spade for power, the other for ground. When you overcome the spring force, the rings touch and complete the circuit. It's not rocket science, but it is fiddly.

You very likely have pieces missing - looks to me like you have the 3 screws to mount the (assembled) horn ring to the wheel - but I don't see the springs or the 3 screws to hold the rings together.

A replacement horn ring repair part is available from F V D for $20 or so (who also stock, incidentally, the pad clip repair piece and horn pads - maybe even the mounting screws. Certainly stock the hubs).

Those wheels sure do look nice!!! Much better than the 4 poster ugly Camry wheel on the 3.2. Even the MGB had a sport wheel!

Thanks John. Got it all back together and fully functional. Worth mentioning that it's important to connect the spade terminals correctly. Otherwise you'll get a constantly beeping horn.
