Lifting Front End on 4 Post Lift

I just recently got a 4 post lift. In order to change wheels/brake work/whatever, how does one get the front end up? I got the rear in the air by lowering the lift down onto a lift stand that was positioned under the motor (with hockey puck). However, the front doesn't have a good center point to do that from as far as I am aware. Anyone have any good ideas? Thanks!

Did your lift not come with a jack tray?
If so a couple of bottle jacks can work.

I purchased a bridge jack for my 4-post last year, works on most cars, but still challenging to hit the lift points on the 84.

Yeah I have the Jack tray but I can’t seem to locate bottle jacks under the factory Jack points (the width of the ramps don’t cooperate). Am hoping I can lift the car from a center point (or use a 2x4 or something to span the lift points etc.

Agree, the front lift points are tricky. I've considered making a lift bar out of some box tubing that fits my bridge jack. Complicated by the idea that I'd like to not block belly pan access...

Use a 2x4, square tubing, etc to bridge the front crossmember and then use a jack on it.

Since you are on a 4 post, I'd assume a small bottle jack in the tray.

HF has a cheap lift bar that should work, I wouldn’t use it on a truck but fine for 911. $56 bucks

Rolling bridge jack is great but not cheap.

Spend the $250 to get the rolling jack designed for your lift. I bought two for mine. Now I can jack the entire car up and remove all tires.

please link to the ones you bought for $250. I'll buy them in a heartbeat.

I have a GregSmith 4 post and they are close to $1k

Agreed, if I can get rolling jacks for $250 each I'm in. I saw someone used the QuickJack on their 4 post lift. Bendpak commented on it on their website basically saying that it looks hokey, but it should be stable. That was a couple of months ago and I see that link/post is no longer there.

That is likely the route I'll go. Not much less expensive than bridge jacks, but much more versatile.

Here's the video the referenced:

That’s interesting, thanks for posting. My 4 post has fairly wide track spacing, so I doubt the QJ would have a place to set, but I may have a look at this next time I get a chance.

Each side of the QJ is VERY heavy. I don’t see how one would pick up and put on the lift repeatedly. Alternatively you could create little ramps to allow the car to drive I’ve QJ while the QJ sits on the lift runways. But then you have the QJ hydraulic cables and power unit to be mindful of as you operate the 4-post.

I went with a rolling bridge jack. Expensive appx $700. I’d still like to see the ones for $250.

Same here on the rolling jacks for 250. I’d be in for two

OldSpool87 - $700 is a little easier to swallow. Can you link that one?

To support the front end after its in the air with a car hoist, position a doubled-up a 2x4 or 6, under the front torsion bar ends then support using two extended jack stands underneath..... or equivalent.

With one hand. It rolls between the lift runways. Once in place, you just move it back and forth. My lowered track car clears it.
