Hi everyone,
I have a question in relation to the wiring in my car (1979 3.0SC) which doesn't seem to be completely to expectation while installing the JWest Engineering headlight relay kit. The JWest Engineering relay kit says to take the yellow wire and white wire from the top of the relays. I find the yellow one where expected. However I find two white wires in the two relays indicated where one white wire should be, maybe no problem yet. However it says to test which wire to go for by taking them out and seeing which will make the headlights go out. Well; I took all three individually, all three at the same time and all possible combinations of two wires. However, in no case do the headlights actually go off... So I havn't tried hooking up the relay yet, since I'm not sure what to do now. Any advice from anyone who's had some hands-on experience with this one, and has some tips to share with someone who's definitely no expert on wiring? ![]() Thanks, Hessel |

For a 1978 or 1979 this should be the wiring
![]() This means : light switch on, high beam stalk 'neutral' : only the yellow wire should provide 12 to fuses 5 and 6 (S5 and S6, they are connected at the top by the fuse box, hard to see on this scan). light switch on and high beam stalk in top position : both the yellow and white wire will provide 12V, and thus also S7 and S8 are 'powered' If your wiring doesn't look like this, find out what's been done to it before installing any further I would say. This thread might help (msg 6 shows the fusebox clearly with the yellow and white wire)
