HELP! Ashtray hardware for 87 911

Odd....but the ash tray in my car is missing the hardware which keeps it in place once opened.

Right now if I open the ash tray, it pulls all the way out. Nothing to keep it in the open position. Must be missing a clip or bracket underneath.

Could someone post a picture of the bottom of your ash tray?

I'd like to fashion one myself, and it would help to see what the original looks like.

Thanks!

Same thing happened to mine. Look on the bottom to see if there is a little chrome (probably spring steel) thingy. It may have gotten pushed up into the bottom of the frame. If it did just pull it out. If you don't see the little chrome thingy it may have broken off.

Nope...

No sight of the metal piece. I was hoping to fabricate one myself after seeing what an original looked like.
