Porsche Underdash Cover?

Does anyone still make the under dash cover or something like it? It is ABS plastic. I have the one that doesn't have speaker holes in it which I really like in my coupe. I would like to have one for my targa. I think it was made by Performance Products.

Here is the one in my coupe:

Here are a few moe pictures of it, including some with the speaker option:

Here is the item on pelican that is permently out of stock I guess.

I just took one of these out of my new to me 81 SC. Looks just like one of you pics with no speaker holes. Dash wiring to the radio and other garbage was laying on it rattling. Not sure if I will ever use it as the car sits so low what is the purpose?

Just to clean things up. There always seem to be wires hanging down, or at least easily visible.

Wish I had bought one when they were still available.

Too bad, seems like a great idea.

I wondered where the name came from. Literally just took it out last week and inter-web search found nothing. Thanks for the info. I still don't get it but my car started as a ROW and I've lowered it even more.

Actually, looks like FVD has something similar (I feel it's OK to post this, since Pelican doesn't have it): https://www.fvd.net/us-en/150900634/underdash-cover-targa-cabrio-a-c-74-83.html

Still looks like a good idea to hide some of the mess…but $421 + international shipping.
How does it attach, slide under the knee pad?
Seems the rattling of dangling wire looms could be muffled by gluing down a thin layer of foam padding.
It has me thinking maybe a couple 24”x12” sheets of very thin .080 Kydex could be flexed enough work as a general coverall without covering the heat ducts.
Just what I need - another summer project !

Given the likely high cost of shipping, this might be a good candidate for a group buy.

Send a message via AIM to fintstone
There is a guy (that makes titanium) stuff that makes the smugglers box lid and the steering column cover out of carbon fiber and sells the pair for about that much.

https://www.tiporscheproducts.com/product-page/smuggler-box-lid-steering-shaft-cover-in-carbon-fiber

While that is expensive (for a poor boy like me) for items never seen after install (under frunk carpet) but saves a few oz...it is pretty cool. Somone looking for this type thing should contact him and suggest he make a version with speaker holes out of carbon fiber. That would be a pretty nice piece and have better rigidity for speaker mounting.

My $10 solution; a cargo net. It hold up all the wires from dangling down and is useful as a map/detritus pocket…

Did this back in 2019. Not difficult.
