Mysterious engine bay wire help

Hi All,

I picked up my first Porsche a couple months ago, a '79 Targa. I'm looking for help in identifying this wire and where it should be? I'm assuming it hooks up to the heater that's unplugged behind my hand, but the connections do not line up. The wires are yellow with a thin black stripe and what looks like two(?) brown wires. As I'm sure you can tell, I am incredibly novice in anything electrical...

My mechanic had the car a few weeks ago to diagnose heat coming to my feet in spite of all the vents off, I'm assuming he disconnected this when he was fiddling with the flapper that was stuck? He's away this week so unfortunately I cannot ask, but I'm trying to figure out if the car is okay to drive as-is until he is back.

yes those are for your heater motor.But..looking at you heater motor it has been replaced for 3,2 Carrera heater motor ,therefore the connector is different..look here is the right one for 911SC.
Get yourself the correct connector.
For safety, start the car and check if you have power to this connector (yellow wire) or just tape it and let you mechanic check it.

Thank you for the insight Ivan! Explains why my blower looked a bit different from the reference photos I was finding.
