Really like the results for you car! How do you like the casters (wheels used to push the car around)?

casters
Quote:
The casters are cheaps ones and my concrete floor is smooth but without epoxy paint so far. All of this results in poor hability to roll, the front of the car moves ok but the rear with all the extra weight is hard to move. Not to mention that you have first to use the jack to put those casters in! This takes to much time to move around the car, it was ok when the car was still in "project mode" but now that it is running I find easier to push the car back and forth turning the wheel 3 or 4 times to be able to take it out of this remote parking spot. To me the casters with the integrated jacks are a much better option. Hope this can be usefull to your needs.

Here's my first. 1982 SC. I'm awaiting delivery, but here's a picture from the PO.
Selling my beloved 986S to make room for her (still not sure it's the right choice!) Last edited by AaronLPDX; 07-22-2023 at 08:28 PM.. Reason: trying to post a photo |

After decades of water cooled ownership, I took the plunge with my first air cooled: a 71 911T. It was my neighbor's, who is an ex Berkeley Labs engineer. He painted it and rebuilt the engine and trans in 1991 and then parked it and couldn't bear to put miles on it. The cool thing is, it's the same color and has most S options just like my dad's '72 I used to ride around in when I was little. It just needs an interior and suspension refresh(and maybe some performance tweaks.)
![]() ![]() It's going into the interior shop for carpet, headliner, dash pad, and door pockets in a week! |

My first - 1984 Carrera sunroof-less
I came upon it completely by luck.
Was shopping for a 240Z. Guimauve loved to ride in it ! October 2006 to August 2009.

My first, an '88 Targa in Lagoon Green Metallic - so much fun and so many memories in just over 3 years and 11,000 miles:
![]() So much fun that I had to jump on the opportunity to add another '88 garage companion when I had the chance, a Commemorative Edition Coupe, new to me about 3 weeks ago... ![]() Now the only challenge is choosing which one to drive from day to day.

Here’s my first 911, an early production 74 Carrera. Acquired it in 2010 and embarked on a full restoration. It was a beat driver in faded Guards Red. Since I was looking for a rare colored example I was not at all interested until I happened to notice thru the frayed carpeting the original lime green when it left the factory! Here are before and after pics. It’s been a love affair ever since completion of the resto in 2012.

My first 911 was my ‘97 993 Targa — which I found in LA and drove back to NYC last year. I’ve now just acquired a ‘78 SC. Turns out it’s easy to want to add more after you crack the seal!
(The 993 will be up for sale soon: I love it but only have room for one car in NYC, and the SC is a very, very fun Sunday car) ![]()

1985 ROW Targa
Not my first (that is the white one you see in the background), but this was my father's car. It is a 1985 ROW Targa that he bought new in 1985, has roughly 106k on it, and was federalized when we brought it to the US in 1989. He passed in 2010, and the car has sat for the most part since 2012. My mom gave it to me in 2015, and I've been meaning to get it running ever since, but you know, life, kids, etc. This June I finally kicked off the project and have been working through it since. anyway here are a couple of shots of the finished product:
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm debating starting a thread to document the whole process for anyone who's curious - just not sure if the forum wants another "here is my project" thread. P.S. - center caps arrived today.
