Adapting late seats to a longhood

I have a 1970 911 coupe with crappy aftermarket seats. I'm looking to replace them with maybe some GTS Classics or a set of 80s seats, and I'm struggling to understand what's involved with adapting them. Are the sliders integral to the seats, or part of the adapter bracketry, or it depends...?

Basically, what do I need to do to get a set of G-body/944 seats in without fabricating?

You will need the sliders and an adapter plate since the slider rails have a different spacing.

There are many threads on the topic. This one may be helpful: https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/676914-85-seats-72-a.html

One would think, but I can't seem to find out where to buy an appropriate adapter. The link you posted, for example, is all fabrication I'd like to avoid.

I hear you. When I needed mine (in 2002-3), I had PEParts make me a set. Not sure if they will still do this but worth a try. https://www.peparts.com/

The SC/Carrera seats are more narrow than the early seats. You need some offset adapter plates.

Used to be able to buy seat rail adapters from many vendors. Here is an example thread (really old) of some for sale.

There are also template drawings in the archives. Spend some time and search for them.
