Porsche number decoding

I'm trying to figure out exactly what the frankenporsche that my father bought years ago is in order to help my mom sell it now that my father has passed away. All the modifications were done prior to us buying the car which did not come with much of a history. Any help with the identification would be grateful.

Vin: 9116201228

If I'm reading the Red Book correctly this makes it a 911S built in 1976.

Engine number: 6390887 with a slightly offset "s"

If I'm reading the Red Book correctly this engine is from a 1977 or 1978 911SC

Transmission: 7163010

I can't seem to find anything listing engine serial numbers. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

The engine type is more important than the number - should be 930/xx or similar. Yes, pics help

The Red Book has engine serial numbers. Engine numbers 639xxxx are from a 1979 SC, and it should be a type 930/03.

What the Red Book doesn't have is transmission numbers, only the type. If it still has the 1976 gear box (and it could), it would be a 915/44 (5-spd). If it's a 1979 box, then that would be a 915/63 if it's from a US car, or 915/62 for ROW.

Engine VIN 9116201228 is, as already written, from a '79 SC, there was only the engine type 930.03 with production numbers from 6390001 to 6399000. The 6399001>> are 930.13 for Sportomatic. Don't know trhe differences between them.
Technical data about the engine: https://www.elferclassic.de/technik/typen-motoren/703-930-03-79.php

Transmission: Number 7163010 leads to the original Carrera 3.0 gearbox, I do not have any specs about that gearbox.
911/CARRERA 3.0/911S 915.44 76 6 716 0001>> 5-Gears, electronic speedo
Is yours original about the ratios?

The body was equipped originally with a 911.82 or 84 engine:

Thanks for all the replies and the help. I will post some pictures. I'll have to get better ones of the transmission.

Engine appears to be a 930 type.

I have no idea where the engine and gearbox came from or the ratios. The numbers I posted from the transmission were the only ones I could find.

My father bought the car probably 25 years ago and it was already a frankencar. Someone had done a flared fender conversion on the back and slant nose fenders on the front. We were originally told that the body was a 1976 (which turned out to be correct). They also said it had an 80's turbo engine in it without the turbo which never seemed quite right since I would think a turbo engine missing the turbo would be a bit of a dog.

The car was dismantled for a overhaul and to find out why it smoked so bad going around a corner which turned out to be a broken cylinder stud.

Any suggestions on how to check which version of the transmission and ratios without pulling it apart?

Thanks for the help. Pictures to follow shortly.

Here you find the serialnumber of the engine:

The 930... numbers on both casing parts are only part numbers and don't identify the engine type, they'll be used on some variants...

Here you the engine type code:

The engine is 1979 type 930/03 3.0 L with 180HP/5500 & torque 265/4200
The trans is 1976 type 915/44 5 speed with ratios 11:35, 18:33, 23:29, 26:26, 28:23 & 8:31 R&P

If the gear is still stock...because the number on the gear box looks quite odd...it should look like this:

Finally got a chance to get back down to my moms to take another look at the engine and transmission. Engine is 930/10 type which looks like it should make it a 1981SC engine. Pictures to follow of engine and transmission. Thanks for all the help.
