Bonjour,

Merci d’avance

Need to state whether it’s a T, E or S .. different curves for different engines.

My engine is a 3.0 CIS, and I have a 123 Ignition Bluetooth adapter. I can enter and program my ignition curve. However, I'm having trouble with the vacuum advance. The map doesn't accept negative values. How do you work around this problem?

Thanks in advance.

No one to help me…
I've been trying to find information more on the map side of programming too without much luck. Every thread, old or new, seems to only go over the ignition set up, mentions the map will be next, and then never covers the map side of things.

Bonjour,

Merci d’avance

I think that you want to advance timing, so you are adding degrees, no need to add negative values. Vacuum advance helps the engine run smoother, cleaner and more economical at light and partial loads.

Drive the car while monitoring the app dashboard and record the max kph value at light cruise about 3200 rpms. The max value will vary at light cruise and other load conditions.

Set the app to ignore MAP below 2000 rpm. Then add 10-13 degrees of advance to cover the kph values.

If you want to retard timing anywhere in your centrifugal curve then you have to set the distributor static timing at a negative value to start, then write your advance curve with that in mind. So if you set your static timing at -5 degrees then when the app shows 20 degrees it will actually be 15 degrees.

To set a vacuum retard 123 calls it a vacuum retard trick, see directions at https://123ignition.com/support/create-curve-tutorial/
