Good lube for side window felt, that won't swell rubber?

A dry teflon lube was recommended, but that seemed to swell the rubber. The one I used was not a spray, which might be part of the problem.

I'm a wondering if there's any sort of wax that would work. Thanks.

There's a point where the felts just need to be replaced, because they start coming apart and bunching up, or the felt surface goes away and the glass drags on the rubber base. Dry teflon spray shouldn't mess with the rubber.

I am going to replace the felt, but I'd like to add some lube as well.

The backstory is that the car has an alignment issue with the window frame. That alignment issue puts pressure on the frame when closed and that causes the window to stick. Yes, I want to fix that problem as well but it's not easy (I've explored all the options).

In the meantime, I need the best bandaid I can get so I'm putting new felts in, lubing the regulator, etc.

Talcum powder is a great lube for felt and rubber window guides. Plus make sure there is zero grease on the window surfaces as this will cause drag on rubber/felt. TP can be messy to get into the vertical channels but it cleans up easily.

Interesting idea. How about graphite powder? I'll be able to apply it before I install the felt, so cleanup won't be too bad.

TP seems like it'll be a mess if it gets wet.

Been using graphite powder for 40 yrs, a little messy at first. Should be simple out of the car.
