remove speedo sensor 3.2 86
How do I remove the sensor in the gearbox. I did remove the retainer spring wire but the sensor is still firmly locked and I am afraid to force it!

Should just come out once the retaining spring is removed.

I'm not sure on your car but for the SCs there is a speedo connector right next to the gear shift transmission coupler that you have to disconnect between the back seats anyway. So you can disconnect the speedo there as well and shove out the grommet into the engine area. Easier than yanking out that sensor.
See picture below. The speedo wire cable has a couple clips on the side of the 915 going from the back along the transmission up to the sensor.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1673291483.jpg |
Move the wire out from under the spring clip rivited to the case (in your picture). Then it's just a matter of wiggling the sensor a bit to free it from the case. There's nothing holding it in except dust and age.
