Running car thru gears on a MID LIFT dangerous?

I was curious if people are actually running their cars up thru the gears like on a dyno albeit not wide open?

I'd like to go to second gear and get on boost for a bit to adjust the wastegate setting (since its over boosting) but it looks like the car could vibrate off the four pads.

I feel highly inclined to strongly discourage your idea.

I actually think you shouldn't do it.

But like some people say.... Your car, your shop, your money.

Can I borrow your motor coach for a few months?

I do dumb things sometimes too. Id do it. I have done it. Just keep it low down get up to speed slowly so the torque doesnt do too much to upset it and dont slam on the brakes.

You may be able to produce some boost pressure Mark but without a load on the drivetrain it definitely will not produce maximum boost like that.
I am in the camp of not doing it.

Agree with porchyard. Without load from the wheels being on the ground you just aren’t going to develop much or any boost. Otherwise. I’m not against you running the car on the lift.
