WEBER float level, is HANES suggestion correct?
According to HANES, " top edge of the float from the top edge of the carburetor body flange(without gasket) should be .492 to .512in.(12.5 to 13 mm)
My questions are: 1) is that measure taken at the exact moment when the float closes the fuel entering the bowl? 2) is that measure correct? Thank you guys. |
Yes to both questions. MUCH better to check fuel level in bowl with external fuel level vial and shim needle valve. Statically check/adjust float to set the basic geometry first. Be sure to peen out the divot in the tab and leak check floats in a hot water bath before float installation. Fuel pressure is 2.5m of water which equates to 3.56 psi.
