V Belt Size - 1983 SC 3.0
 

Hi,

The Porsche PET indicates that both 695 and 710 v belts are suitable for post 1980 SC’s. There is no obvious indication in the PET how and when the change occurs.

Does anyone know how and when the delineation is done - model year, chassis number, divination, speaking in tongues

The 710 feels to big even with all six shims on one side.

The 695 feels way too tight even with all the shims on one side.

I don’t mind persevering with one or the other but it would be good to know what is the right size.

710 is right size for SCs as Porsche specified. I tried a 700 belt with no success. Don't know if a fitting 705 is available...I suppose that on our cars the pulley is worn...
