Engine compartment seals: Brand preference?

While the engine will be out of my 1984 Carrera, time to replace the engine compartment seals.

I see three options at three price points: Porsche ($$$), “OEM” ($$) and Üro ($).

Do I split the difference and go with OEM? Are the Üro seals totally fine?

Mainly looking for the ones that fit best and last longest.

Thanks.

Oh, and I missed the “German” option.

The originals have formed corners, the cheap ones don't, they will "bunch up" in the corners.

Yep. I used Uro and noticed this. They have a little bit of forming but it's not enough and I had to do just a bit of trimming for them to handle the curves. For something that hopefully has to be done once every 30-40 years I'd say get the good ones--if I were to do it again that's what I'd do.

Also buy some conduit cable pulling lubricant, you'll need it.

Thanks for the feedback. So by “good” ones, do we prefer “German” or “OEM” for the longer seal? Our host offers both.

Thanks again.

You want the one with the Porsche logo triangle on the package. Might only be available thru dealer.
