1984 Targa engine pull, speedometer sensor wire?

I am starting the process to remove my engine and transmission.

Do I need to disconnect the speedometer wire from the side of the transmission, or does that run through the engine harness connector?

Disconnect it in the shift coupler area and push the connector through the firewall. You'll be disconnecting the coupler anyway.
