I got this car back from some repair work and the shifter has started acting up.
It feels like it's selecting gears but it only appears to get 3rd and 4th. Reverse seems OK but feels a bit strange. The one thing I do know they worked on was the transmission oil seal so they must have had the rear shifter coupling off. I followed a number of Youtube videos and set the gear stick fully to the drivers seat loosened off the rear coupler and turned it fully countr clock wise to the passenger side and reclamped it. The Bushings at the rear seem OK but the shifter itself is a bit sloppy. It has always been that way but I always managed to get 1st and 2nd but not now Thanks for any assistance Nick |

You don't say what year . .that would be helpful. I would replace all the shifter bushings . . only $20 for all of them . . I would also add the Stella's Auto spring if you have a 73 or newer 915 trans. And the rear coupler adjustment is not once and done . . you have to make minor adjustments until you get it just right.
