Akron Engine Drop
I think it’s time for an engine reseal among other things on my 84. I’ve owned the car almost 20 years and to the best of my knowledge the engine has never been out. This will be my first go around with an engine drop and I would welcome any help from someone in the area that has done this. WIFY? Beer, bourbon and some good old fashioned fun. If you have any interest, call or text me at +14402131949. I don’t spend much time in the forums so that’s the best way to connect. Thanks!

I’m too far away to help in person, but hopefully you will get some ideas from my experience so far with my 1984 Targa:

Dropped my my engine and trans (84 Targa as well) for the first time several years ago….and did dozens of things over the 3 months it was out.
Incredible a mount of posts/information here in the forum. Two examples include drawings to make a great wooden engine “cradle” platform for your jack or hydraulic table, + an actual engine/trans drop check-list of the steps of what needs to be done and sequence for doing them. Don’t forget to take the obligatory standing in the engine bay pic… when’s its out! JT |
Thanks for the info!
