Door rattling - finally fixed?
On my ‘74 targa it had a problem with the drivers door - right door here in Australia. It felt like it only went onto the first latch, and made noises. First I suspected the window, the frame etc. I lost count how often I opened the door while driving to SLAM it closed, and that seemed to work. I played with the receiver in the doorframe, no success.
And today when looking for some other rattle in the car, I decided ti have a look at the door lock, mainly to see how much difference there was between the first and the second latch, and if there is a rubber buffer keeping the door under ‘tension’. And then I found that the lock mechanism was loose. All 3 screws. Stupid me, I would have thought I’d had checked that for sure….. Have not had a test drive yet, but in the garage it looks promising.

Thanks for the tip. I have a nasty door rattle that appears to be the window mechanism, but I'll be sure to check the screws holding the door lock bits in place too!
