Searching for post…
I came across a post on partial engine drop using long engine mount bolts but now I can’t find it here or with google. Anyone know the post I’m referring to? I recall that they lowered they engine with stock bolts, then replaced them with longer bolts and continued to drop. No jack required.

Now that I thought about it overnight, I think the technique used 2 pieces of threaded rods with nuts to replace the engine mount bolts. These were long - 6-8" or so - so the engine could be dropped 4+ or so with no jack requited and very convenient.
