Question 911SC mystery fuel line - help!

Hello Pelicans,

While pulling the motor for my 1979 SC, one line remained. I was rounding the fittings off trying to remove it, so I snipped it. That may have been a dumb idea, as I cannot figure out what the PN is to replace it!

I'm already doing fuel lines courtesy of BoxsterGT. This line feeds into part 62 on the highlighted PET diagram at the end...

Here are photos holding part 62. I cant keep track of where this goes in following PET pages. Pictures of the part IRL

Any direction appreciated, fellas. Thank you for reading!

Main Return Line….

The cut fuel line is the Main Return Line and comes in two (2) sections. This cut fuel line is about 3 feet long and connects to the fuel line that goes through the tunnel. So give Len a call to make one for you.

Austin, you should already have this in the baggie marked "79 SC Rear".

It looks like this one.....

...with a M14 Male Cone at the Motor end and a M14 Female straight at the Tunnel.

Hope this helps.

Len

Can I just take a moment to shout out how great BoxsterGT/Len has been? Wish I could send him a cold brew and firm handshake in the mail!

Pro tip - go to a florist and get two long stem rose boxes (and maybe some roses for your SO?) to ship the metal lines. Nest one box inside the other for double protection.

What's with the rush ?

You still have to undo the fittings to reuse the bracket unless you're going to dump that too and to hook up the new line. Can't avoid those tasks.

This is why "Flare Nut" wrenches are a must when working with Fuel & Oil Lines.

And not the cheap Chinese junk that are loose & do not fit.

Quality wrenches that fit so the nuts do not round off.

Completely agree and in addition I bought two Snap On flank drive spanners which really helped on extra tight fittings. Both types have saved the day at various times
