CIS to Carbs
Can someone confirm what wires are still required in the engine wiring harness when switching to CIS to Carbs. 1974 911 Targa 2.7L. Switched to 40mm Webers.
Also, any confirmation on the parts I need to delete or not use since I no longer have the CIS would be great to know and confirm. Removed the following: aux air regulator, safety switch, cold start valve, thermo valve, warm up regulator, voltage regulator, thermo switch, CDi unit, Rv Meter. Switched to a 123ignition and bought a wiring harness for that from them. First time doing and just worried I will screw it up. Thanks, Scott

The voltage regulator has nothing to do with CIS, it controls the voltage from your alternator.

You will need a different fuel pump, I have found Webers like 3 psi
Good move with the conversion, I changed my original 1975 911S from CIS to Webers several months ago. After fooling with the CIS for waay to long Couldn't be happier wish I could be of more help with the wiring, she is in storage for the winter |

Yes, moved the fuel pump to the front since got all new fuel lines from Len Cummings and adding a fuel pump switch. I have to go with a high volume fuel pump because I can't find one at 3psi that has the bango fittings that his lines come with. Will add a PMO fuel pressure regulator to bring it back to 3PSI in the engine bay. Also looks cool
![]() I also change my cam to a S version when it got rebuilt and refreshed to match up with the Webers. |

The fuel pumps usually can have adapters added to allow banjos. Still good to get a regulator. But I'm pretty sure you can add the banjo fittings.
