Too much oil in my 1976 targa

I had a leak of oil and filled too much oil . About 3-4 liters more . After I started the engine it worked fine for a minute than it back fired and smoked a lot. The engine turned off - i took the extra oil out but still a lot of smoke . I dont want to make a mistake - what is the next procedure i need to make now?

pull the plugs and clean them

Go out at midnight and burn the oil out of the exhaust system. It goes through the engine and coats the inside of the exchangers and muffler. Might want to stay out of your neighborhood.

Check the oil level with engine warmed up and running, on "level ground". Don't rely on the gauge.

What John said. Go somewhere people don't know you and burn it out.

Make sure you know exact how much is in there now, and then go somewhere to burn all excess out like said before

Why would that matter at all? Drive the car until the oil is up to temp then remove/burn off until the oil is at the halfway mark on the dipstick.
