Good to hear you got it sorted, that bolt looks like one that would fasten pipework, or cabling to the engine covers or manifolds etc, see if you have any bolts missing around the air pump area and covers.

Once I did, I found this bolt inside the tube. It only could have passed into the tube through the check valve side. I guess it's the best case scenario, but I'm not sure exactly how it got there. Plugged the injector ports for now and it's seems good again.

So it's a weird one, still wondering what this bolt is. The head is smaller than one on pump bracket but when I get back to it again I will remove and check threads.

that reminded me of ,back in Czechoslovakia we had a car with strange sounds under the dash on Skoda 1000..took us for a while until we found coins in the ashtray..;-)

that looks like the bolt that holds the air pump on to the adjustment for the belt. The one on the pump looks new.

Don't think its big enough, its more likely one of the bolts that hold the pulley to the pump ?
