1973 911 brake pedal adjustment

I'm having an issue with brake pedal position sticking out too far causing difficulty going from accelerator to brake without catching my shoe. So, I decided to rebuild the pedal cluster and hopefully adjust the pedal height. See before and after pics.
Still can't figure out the adjustment. I do see the threaded piston going into MC but don't see how that helps.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I feel what you need at this point is to adjust both the accelerator and brake to a lower level of your desired position.
