Another memorable episode in Hayden's life was the Paris to Peking rally that he drove in a 356. Here he is in Iran.

Clearly I'm mistaken. I don't remember what he had said to me that made me think that. He took a while to warm up to me. He had some sort of history with Paul Guard and when I bought GT it tainted things for a bit. I think it had something to do with the 915 dogbox, but I don't really know. I always made sure to give him a good deal for the spares. I still have a bunch of that stuff.

While it didn't get a ton of attention, the things he was doing with the 5spd conversions on the 741 356 gearboxes were really neat. He ran our diff in that race car in the picture. I'm glad he got to go do that stuff before it was too late.

It is wonderful to read all the posts with an outpouring of admiration for Hayden, he certainly accomplished much during his time with us. He was always grateful to the Porsche community that embraced his enthusiasm and truly cherished each and every one of the people we met along the way.

We will continue with all work and projects that were close to his heart.
