1982 911 SCrear frame structure
I am rebuilding (replacing) the whole rear latch panel (which is available from our vendor). The car was rear ended in the past and a botch repair was carried out - painted with welding wire
I have the right side cut down/disassembled and as per picture it appears to be missing an extension/horn - should one be there ? and what is its function ? The Driver side (which was not impacted) has this "horn". (separate from the rear latch panel structure and easier to deal with now if needed. Can anyone shed light on this ... anyone have a spare if I need one ? Pictures and comments most welcome. I have search PET - no picture that I can ascertain - as well as Youtube and other sources. Thanks ! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1741290668.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1741290668.jpg |
Hi,
It's for your rear Tow-hook, when needed this hook is inserted trough the hole in your bumper and catches in the 'key' shaped hole. The spring on the hook keeps it in place when in use. |

Hi TJJSC.. Thank you - makes sense now you point it out - kinda obvious really !
The toe hook clearly fits there - and the two egg shaped holes on both sides, with be for two straps if you need a 'straight' pull I assume; the right side needs straightening. PS your car looks great! .http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1741314895.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1741314895.jpg |
