G-Body Numeric Racing shifter
Just saw a recent post on Rennlist from Numeric Racing announcing their new shifter ine for G-body cars (901, 915 and 930). I know they're big in the newer model Porsche community but any thoughts on how well they'll work in air-cooled cars? I'm also curious if anyone has any speculations around how they'd compare to a Wevo w/components. Comparable? Significantly better? No improvement at all?

it's on preorder status.
how is someone supposed to give user feedback or comparing experience? from the looks: it doesn't kick me of my feet and from the money it will not make me remove my WEVO.

Was looking to see if someone had experience with them as a brand, not necessarily for their experience with the g-body shifter. Typically brands will be consistent amongst products so was looking for any "speculations" on how this will be. All conjecture at this point but I thought it was an interesting conversation to be had.

I just installed the Numeric Racing shifter with cables in my 2019 T yesterday. The manufacturing and engineering of the shifter is precise, excellent work. If you just buy the shifter it will be an easy install. The cables....not so easy.

I've heard great things about Numeric and they are local to me, so there are plenty of folks using their stuff in later model cars. This shifter looks very similar to the WEVO version. I've got the WEVO shifter and linkage, while the Numeric version includes both of those as a package. But the overall pricing is very similar too. Supplies were limited when I purchased my WEVO stuff, so I suppose I would have considered Numeric if I couldn't get WEVO or if I wanted to support a local business.

I think the main question that I'd have of Numeric is how they feel their shifter and linkage compares to the Wevo with PSJ and billet clamp. As someone asked on Rennlist "High-precision shifting system components are already available on the secondary market that seem functionally comparable. So, the key question is specifically how is the Numeric Racing shifter itself superior to the WEVO racing shifter, for example?"
Hopefully Numeric will respond to my question.

The WEVO uses no bearings or bushings. I have upgraded my wevo with bushings. Real bearings would be very tight and precise. Weather or not this is necessary is up for debate

For those interested, this was their response to my question about the Wevo comparison:
"This comes down to the mechanics of the shifter. In short, if you take a look at the Wevo for example, the pivot points use similar mechanics as the stock shifter (a tightened down pin on both axes). Ours offers ball bearings on both the axes, which eliminates any slop and also no play will occur over time either. Our shifter is referred to as the equivalent as your hand reaching into the transmission and shifting the gears directly." They will also have a shift lever that looks like the stock shift lever to begin with. The kit includes the Numeric Racing Shifter, Numeric Racing maintenance free shift linkage, Porsche replacement shift rod bushing and Porsche replacement shift lever ball socket (Part #: 91142413900)

Now that is funny KTL!
I have had similar experiences when working on my 915s, lol. I am a relatively early adopter with the WEVO shifter and PSJ (since 2002). I was able to witness their development process at various points and consider the principals at WEVO friends. The WEVO designer has pro racing technical experience in arenas like IMSA and Grandam.

We use and sell plenty of Numeric products, shifter and cables. Interested in trying one of these.

I'm interested in how the 901 version works as well, currently I have a Rennshifter for the 2.0 914 and a Wevo for the 914-6GT clone.
And a Hargett for the 81SC and Wevo for the 78SC.
