DIY 3D Printing Tools and Parts Thread
Hello Pelicans, many of us have 3D printers as they have become cheap to buy and easy to operate. I would like to start this thread for folks to share their designs, ideas and files for others to use. It will save everybody time and therefore money.
I hope to get some participants. Greetings, Daniel |

Thingiverse has a number of 911 parts already in *.stl format. Here is a link to a door pocket support.

Heck, I’m only 5 not 71!

I have been looking at cheap 3D printers and I wondered if I bought one where would I find the 3D build files. There are several vents that have been made by Pelicans for the CR Electrocooler AC system. Maybe they will post their files to this thread and all the files would be accessible in one place.

Let me load the ones I have to thingiverse this week. I am trying to get the slicing correct for the PETG as my first set of PLA vents warped when using my heat last winter.
Pat - I still owe you a set. I'm actually printing them now.

I have a bunch that I can load into thingverse.
Last winter I floated the idea of building a Porsche 3d printed file repository but it was received with crickets...

Hey Showdown, glad we share the same thought. We can use this Thread to have discussions on new printed components, also requests that some members maybe have but use thingverse for holding the files?

Very keen on a repository for 911 files. I'm pretty new to 3D printing, but made this up last week for my 911, its mounted to the original center console mounting holes on my tunnel with 2 screws (107mm c2c) I'm not sure if this is universal on all models or someone had drilled mine previously for the console. It may or may not be of use to others?

I made this equalizer box for my period correct blaupunkt system. I also incorporated a couple of USB ports at the back to power the phone.
![]() It’s a no-drill install that gets it under the dash and gives a tidy phone input for the rennline phone mount. The equalizer used to be on the console but I wanted to mount a center AC vent, hence the box. ![]() The phone wire routes through the ashtray, so it can be tucked away when not in use. There’s a second charger wire in the ashtray for passengers. The entire system uses Bluetooth (hidden behind equalizer box) to transmit through FM. It works great except for the hiss of static before the Bluetooth cuts in. Figuring out how to maybe time delay the amp on power up to fix that, or something similar. |

@jmd88 - thanks for this! I was just looking up acquiring new ones since they are crumbling on my coupe. It doesn't look like you can buy them separate. Firing up the printer now. Can you check the link to your files? I'm getting a 404 on thingiverse.

I'm running a Creality CR10-Mini and it seems to be working fine. I need to convert my prints from PLA to PETG, but so far with PLA it has been really good. I think I paid around $200.

I just created my thingiverse account so it might still be propagating.
Does this work: Link to .STL if not, DM email and I'll send it over. |

This depends entirely on what you want to do with it. If you're just looking for some fun, maybe some utility prints and that's about it - I'd consider the Anet A8 I've got 3 of them and they work like a charm with a few little upgrades and taking the time to build and setup them up correctly. My prints are all purely utility and fun and the results are great for what I need.
Hope that helps. |
