Electrical Schematic 1980 911 SC

Hello All,

I'm trying to figure out why my fog ligths and rear window defrosters don't work on my 1980 911 SC. I've checked for "blown" fuses and faulty relays, but nothing seems amiss.

Can someone please provide a source for a pdf version of the electrical schematic for my '80 911 SC?

Thanks!

Jason

Thanks Walt.

I noticed that schematics for MY '79, '80, and '81 were missing. Perhaps the '82 schematic is similar to my '80.

Does anyone know if a 1978 or a 1982 electrical schematic is the same as the one for a 1980 911 SC?

Thanks!

Jason

One the same problems I once had.
Both Fog and R. Defrost dash knobs would light up but neither were activated.
Found the Fog lamps were disconnected along the front cowl, maybe snagged at some time caused the terminal pulled apart.
The fuse for the rear defroster is in the engine compartment along with relay were good. But more common problem might be wires are not connected or terminals broken off, often result from reinstalling the rear windshield.
I still haven’t yet addressed my R. Defrost yet or which of the 3 stages work or don’t since I’ve yet to fog up the windows last winter. Not sure how to test either.
I have a Pelican post on the wiring bookmarked somewhere - if I find that I’ll post link.

Do the factory schematics for 78/79 as they are in color. I don’t recall but 80/83 should be color also. I know the Carrera aren’t colored.

Schematics for MY81 are available in the factory Workshop manual for 73-83 (pdf file). This manual also contains one schematic for MY80 pertaining to the O2 system.

Thanks for that information.

I've purchased a Bentley workshop manual that hopefully contains electrical schematics, but it has yet to be delivered. Hence my search for an on-line pdf schematic.

BOPE ;
Can’t find the link to a PP post on the rear defrost as I recall someone posted their hand drawing of the wiring terminal connections.
I incorrectly mentioned 3 stage but its actually 2 stage, the dash knob pulls out 2 notches to operate either center heat grid or all 3 (top and bottom) grids.
Sometimes those metallic brown lines in grid are damaged from age exposure and no longer work to heat the element.

Maybe this link will help it's a bit similar if you haven’t already read it :

Send me a pm with your email and I'll send you the pdf for the factory workshop manual.
Bentley diagrams are different, while they are easier to read they also contain errors or lack information. Use both factory and Bentley diagrams if you can.
