Sport seat restoration

So a while ago I posted that I had bought some sport seats from a fellow pelican.

I need to retexture the seat hinges, to meet original appearance.
Unfortunately the original texture was blasted off, lets not get too far into that.

Here is what the seats I have look like.
the recaro sport seats, early version.

and here is the hinge in detail.
I stole these pictures from bring a trailer, that way I had decent reference material.

For some unknown reason my pictures are not uploading
but this was the ad i was trying to pull the pictures from

If this is what you’re looking for, I would try wrinkle paint in a rattle can

There's quite a few threads on this on the EarlyS. Best solution is to do a light spray with contact cement to create the texture and then do a coat of satin black. Wrinkle paint is incorrect....

My question would be is the car's value going to be hurt but a material % by not having the correct texture. Of course it's always great to get the "period correct" texture, and I have spent a lot of time on some parts to get them "period correct" for the pleasure of it. That said, unless the car is a 73 RS lightweight, or something similarly rare and valuable, I am not sure the "correct" texture is "necessary."

All that to say I have had very good luck getting a nice textured finish with the likes of the VHT paint, without a lot of work. My 75 has the dash done in it, and many people comment that they love the textured dash, and the texture it's self.

Good luck!

On my 1973 comfort seats (same black finish), I used the truck bed liner in a spray can, and it looked pretty close to original.

The wrinkle finish, hammer-Tone, Semi-Gloss, Gloss Black would all look good.

If you're not trying to win concours points, don't fret about the value of the car. The car's greatest value is to YOU, so make it the car you want it to be, not what someone else might want it to be. Trust me on this, you will find much more nirvana on that path. And not just with cars...
