One of one PTS Sonderwunsch Carrera 3.2

A while ago I acquired a pretty special 911 Carrera 3.2, and thought some of you might get a kick out this curiosity

I found the car in France, and when I saw pictures of the interior, I knew it went through the Sonderwunsch program.

Ordered new by a German Baron, it was painted PTS Rolls Royce Exeter Blue, and received a complete interior makeover.
Leather covered dashboard, fuse box lid, Sonderwunsch steering wheel, wood dash and center console, cassette boxes under the kneepads, leather covered rosettes for the ignition and door locks, and upgraded speaker system with custom rear enclosure.

It was also ordered with the US style rear big impact bumpers, which is a bit of a bizarre choice to say the least.

Hi Ian, to be honest it's for sale at a dealer, because I like my 911's lighter and sportier, and it would be a shame to modify this one.

I just wanted to share it with the Pelican community as a reference point regarding the Sonderwunsch department, the forum has been a huge source of information for me, so it's only normal to share this. Every little bit helps I know the car is not to everyone's taste, but I see it as an artifact of what was possible at the time.

Boy, that's something else. The interior details are not my thing but the colors are terrific.

The dash burl wood is very nice and goes great with the blue leather.

The speaker covers are ugly as sin, but I’m curious about the rear parcel shelf, or rather in the slit below it; is that a subwoofer enclosure?

Do you have any pictures of the cassette holders open?

Thanks for sharing the photos.

Maybe the Baron got his RR/Bentley order confused with his Porsche order. Judging by the size of those seats, he loved his wurst. I'll delete this later to remove any bad feelings. Thanks for posting.

Haha no bad feelings! You might be right, the seats are too big for me even though they are adjustable.

It's indeed not the finest or most delicate work, but this was the start of the Sonderwunsch program, and it's nice to see the progress they made in a couple of years. My car is a 1984, and I have a 1986 'Exclusive' catalog, and they surely upped their game a bit. I'll post some pictures later from the catalog

I'll need to check the parcel shelf if there's a subwoofer but I guess it's just crammed with speakers

Very unusual, again not to my taste, However; those seats do look very comfortable!
Good luck with the sale, I am sure there is someone out there who will appreciate it for what it is.
Ant.

Kind of like a 911 LX. Bet it matched his Rolls. I'd drive it!

The catalog is sweet!

So cool to get the historical perspective it offers. Thanks for taking the time to post those pics.

"Rolls Royce Exeter Blue"

Nice !

Those seats look like they wil fit right in a RR.

The ashtray delete with the waterfall console is cool.

Thanks! The seats are very comfy (a bit Chesterfield like) and I bet they practically weigh as much as a Rolls Royce too.

Great info. If that blue is non metallic, I worked on restoring a 1929 Rolls that was that color years ago.

Yes it's a non metallic blue, it really comes alive in direct sunlight.
