Metalwork question
I need to have the rocker replaced on the 356 restoration (which gave rise to the 911 to keep this on topic). The car rolls but doesn't run, I don't have a welder and don't really want one. Will a shop guy come out and weld on a new rocker? If not, how do I avoid having to get this thing to a shop just for a small job?

Hit your yellow pages, there should be many mobile welding services in NJ. Give a call and explain the job. It should not be too hard to track down a guy in your area.

there's generally more that needs attention than just the outer skin. rocker replacement can be a real can of worms. use a shop that's done it before, and isn't scared to do it again. it's not a easy repair.
