Thank you. It is a stock 911/85 2.7L that came out of a '77 911S that had 272k miles on the clock. I purchased it with the intention of using it as a base to build a hot rod engine, but it had great compression numbers and ran so well that I decided to put it in the car as-is (internally) so I could get the car back on the road and have some fun while I save to get the remaining parts to build the dream engine....I stripped it down to the long block and replaced as many seals as I could. The CIS, intake, fan shroud, fan, and engine tin came off of my tired '75 2.7L that I am putting on the shelf for safe keeping (#'s matching). The tin and fan shroud were painted gold for a poor man's amber engine tin look lol. Rennline valve and chain housing covers were installed because they do a great job of reducing oil leaks. The CIS is stripped down to the bare essentials; literally just the fuel distributor, WUR, injectors, air metering plate, and throttle body. Nothing more is used, not even the cold start injector. I run the mixture a little on the rich side to be safe and use a toggle switch on the fuel pump to aid in hot starts. System pressure is set at 95psi. Running a 123 Ignition with a custom curve and vacuum advance. Headers are cheap OBX stainless RSR headers that I had laying on the shelf. They have been excellent over the years. 24" megaphones for fun, but have two 24" glasspacks that will be going on to tame it down for the street. We went on the maiden voyage last weekend. It runs and drives great. Not a ton of power but a whole lot of character! ![]() And a pic from today at the track while spectating. Hope to run some laps soon ![]()
