Troubleshooting the Pertronix Igniter 2 system, car will not start afterwards!

I bought a Pertronix Electronic Ignition "Ignitor 2" and a new Pertronix Flame flow coil and I am having problems with the car not starting after installation. I have a 1976 911S that had a smog pump installed. I removed the complete smog pump, unhooked the battery, took out the points and unhooked the wire lead , popped off the rev. limiting rotor, installed the bracket/Pertronix sensor/and magnet with the proper gap requirement of .030", removed the previous points wire lead to make room for the sensor wires to out the distributor, put the rotor back on the distributor shaft and exchanged the Bosch coil with the flame coil. Per the instructions I installed the ignition wire and the red Pertronix wire on the + terminal and then the black wire + the previous ground lead from the Bosch coil on the negative terminal. Of course I re-installed the looks like - plug wires? ground wires back to the original position behind the coil bracket and installed the nut.

I started the car several times and even tried different experiments by removing various ground wires that I was not really sure should have been re-installed with the new ignition system. Does the points wire lead need to be tied into the new system? Is my CDS?....(i.e. like the MSD brand) compatible with this system? The car is getting plenty of juice from the battery and fuel, since I can smell the fuel not being sparked in the new system. Do I have the coil lead backwards? - the Bosch had the letter "A" and minus sign - I believe the A is the positive side and the - is the ground. Not sure what to do now.....please help!

I believe I have resolved the issue with Pertronix....the Black lead should be hooked to the previous Points lead which goes to the CD box......was not quite clear in the instructions....will hook it up tonightand go for a spin!
