tensioner levers for cab

Got my car back from installing a new top and was told that it needs 2 tensioner levers. They attach to the door post behind the rear edge of the door glass. Can anyone suggest where to get the parts I need? Can they be fabricated? Pictures? Thanks for your help!

What year is your car? Who put the top on?

It is a 85 911 Gemballa . I have found a picture on PET. Stoddard has 2 in stock and is sending a picture of the pieces. At $120 each for what looks like a 7" piece of steel.......I might be better off fabricating my own! Cab pieces are expensive!

That sounds like a strange piece to wear out. You might try an automotive dismantler like DC Automotive, 20th Street Auto or Parts Haven or Oklahoma Foreign. One of those guys maight have a used piece that will work.

Are they the double threaded steel pieces that adjust the tops' alignment? Why do they need replacing (cracked, damaged threads)?

Stoddard was kind enough to send pictures of the pieces. At 300 some bucks, we are going to fabricate the two pieces. They are the two metal pieces about 8" long that put tension on the frame so that the top fits snug at the sides (from the door to the engine area). The PET illustration # is 811-13, update 160 for 85 cab. Part # 911 561 341 01, 342 is the right side. Thanks again....great people on this board!
