1986 G50 production numbers

Hi Guys, I bought a '87 model 911 cabrio for my wife with the G50 trans, production late 1986. Does anyone know the production numbers of 1986 911 cabrio's with the G50 trans? I find only total production numbers, trans not specified... Thanks, Nico

just to be clear, only 1987 model year or newer Carreras came with g-50s -- all 1986 model year Carreras were spec'ed with 915s.

Not sure that there's a breakdown of what 1987 model year Carreras were built in '86 vs 87 (or what 1986 model year Carreras were built in 1985 or 1986, etc.)

So you are asking, "how many 1987 model year cars were produced during 1986"?

Hi Nico55- Just an FYI- the Porsche factory does not operate on a Jan 1st-Dec 31st calendar year cycle. The auto industry model year (MY) traditionally runs from August 1 to 31 July, so a 1987 model (with the G50) could have been produced between 1 August 1986 and 31 July 1987. As Flat6pac has mentioned, the VIN Tag on the Drivers Side Door pillar will show the month of production. There were around 4,200 Cabriolets produced for Model Year 1987, or about 350 per month. Here's an example of a 1987 911 Coupe with August of 1986 production date. Hope this helps.
