I have a G50 5 speed transmission and the linkage is really sloppy to the point I have to be very careful shifting into another gear. This happened rather quickly, is the cause just the bushings? Is their a after market short shift available? Any help would be grateful.

This happened on my Carrera too. It's most likely the ball cup bushing - about $13 and under and hour to R&R.

Don't know about a G50 but on my G15, the ball and the shift bushings were easy, about $25 total and an hour or two and made a world of difference
