I bought my copy of GT4 back in may 04 on Amazon! I think the UK release date is the 9th of March. what a fantastic game. THE best driving sim IN THE WORLD! I can't tell you how dissapointed i will be if I can't play it online though. I was led to belive that the reason for the delay was so that they could sus the online stuff out but....... Anyway, we should get a 'best nurburg lap time' thread going. you guys in the states can get the ball rolling - best get you're asses into gear though - ill whip ALL of them into shape come March the 9th! the threads already open in the OT forum if anyone cares to post the first time................

I loved the first project gotham, havent played the second one yet. I always thought the style points (Kudos) were a great idea. It made racing more interesting.

I've been looking for a cheap used PS2 just so I can get this game. I had GT and GT2 and the physics were just so good.

I hadn't even had the "tube time" to do much with GT3, but am a big fan of the series so GT4 will be added to the wish list.
Are there any good controller options now for the PS2 other than the full sized steering wheel rigs? I had a little handheld wheel-based controller for my PS1 -- "UltraRace" or something like that -- and it was very cool. Playing driving sims with an analog joystick or digital thumb-buttons has never appealed to me and is tough to get the hang of since it's so "unnatural" compared to a real car's controls.

Bigrubber, looks like you are gonna have to get the ball rolling.
Heres the link to the thread now go and show me what you can do! Of course the times will get better as faster cars are unlocked/won/boosted to death but it will be fun to see the times getting quicker and quicker plus having something to aim for will be great Andy

Just picked it up tonight. The most realistic sim you can get in my opinion. I had to buy a PS-2 to go with the game though.....I was holding off unil they released it!!

Came back from Tenerife. Been home whole day. At evening i figured i could play ps2 upstairs. Went up to found out ps2 is missing. WTF. Searching more to found out ive had a burglary. Missing phones digital camera, laptop..... DAMN and ps2. At least my porsche and my zx10 was in garage. No mess just quick job. Police came for fingerprints. Now mounting alarm system. Thats bad side of having famous wife.......
Anyway i had my smaller ps2 with me so.... now just had to buy gt4 since gt3 was in stolen ps2........

not sure how many have played it, but Need For Speed - Porsche Unleashed is an AWSOME game....takes you through the evolution of porsche with all the major 356s, 911s, supercars...etc.....REALLY entertaining for a porsche enthusiast. it was only available for PC and was made by EA games......i have played it about 3 times all the way through and still have fun with it every once in a while....

I played until 3:30 in the morning and woke up at 6:30 to go to work. LOL!
Its pretty fun but a lot like the GT3 what saves it is the little changes. I got a kick out of the N2O in the speed shop. I added it for yuks and tried it out its pretty entertaining. I used it at the start and on the long straights.... if feels like cheating to me. The RUF store is nice there is an older 80's 911 in there that I bought and played with lots of fun. The tracks are great, the detail is awesome. Anyone else the animated fans on the sides? During the IB liscense test on one of the rally tracks a fan jumps onto the track ans waves his arms. He distracted me and I wrecked! LOL!! I didn't do that twice. Of course being a Rotary fan I bought a 2002 RX-7 and continued to slowly tweek it until it had 640 HP and every add on you could buy along with the N2O wich is hystericle. I will give Project Gotham another try maybe I misunderstood what was going on. I am an elderly man so its possible.

"El Capitan" seems like a perfect Porsche track, so is the Targa Florio-ish, "Amalfi"
