911SC alternator
After doing a search on alternators I have a question for everyone. I have a1978 911SC with a Marchal external voltage regulator alternator that the bearings are bad. What is everyone doing for replacements? I really dont want to use an internal regulated Paris Rhone, I read on the PCA tech that Stephen Kaspar uses Bosch external voltage regulator alternators with matching regulator. Has anyone done that? I am looking at getting mine re-built, however there is no one reliable to do the work. So... what has every one done? Thanks for the advice

I had mine rebuilt. Through research I found that the Marchal with external voltage regulator is more reliable than the later units. Any good auto electric place should be able to do it. It's probably cheaper to have it rebuilt than a new later model.
