engine cuts out not missing
after many attempts and checked with many many hours of trouble shooting I stoped working on my car for a few eeks and did not even drive it. This morning was the same thing the Car bucks (cuts out) Not MISSING. I discovered after I thought about it that it is not the miss which I had been chasing so long it really is cutting out for a split second. So now I think it is a fuel problem what do you all think???

Ben, I have limited experience on CIS 911's (I only have screwed with mine), but my '79 SC, not long after I rebuilt the engine, I started noticing that when I tromped on it and the rpm got into the 5k range, it started bucking/cutting out occasionally. My guess was that the fuel distributor plunger piston was hanging/sticking. After checking the timing and fuel pressures and driving for another week or so the problem went away, so my guess was that I just had some crap or varnish in the fuel distributor as my car had sat for a long time before I bought it.
I did later install a proper WUR that I made adjustable and a new fuel filter, but the problem had cured itself before making these changes. I am not saying that this is your problem but I thought I would throw it out on the table just for yuks. |
Do you still have points?

no its an 81 sc engine. Fuel pressures are good with an adjustable WUR that I made.. Thats why I was chasing ignition but since found its fine so it must be a fuel cut out???
